TORA Narrator

Ray Norton

Biography

  • Hometown: McAllen, Texas
  • Occupation: Self-Employed and Semi-Retired

Ray has been announcing World War 2 Airshows since joining the CAF in 1977 while it was still based in Harlingen, Texas. In addition to announcing at most CAF annual homecoming airshows in Harlingen and Midland until 2009, Ray was the lead airshow announcer for the first 23 years of the Wings Over Houston airshow.

In addition to his work with the CAF, over the years, Ray has also announced airshows at Military facilities and for privately sponsored airshows from coast to coast.

9 years ago, upon the retirement of longtime Tora-Tora-Tora Narrator Ken Crites, Ray was privileged to assume the role of lead Narrator for the group and continues in that capacity. He and Narrator Denise Walker are working with a group of qualified Tora-Tora-Tora Narrators based in different parts of the country to provide an exciting description of this historic World War II reenactment.
